Your Questions, Answered: All About Our Christmas Wedding!

Where is the wedding and reception?

Our wedding and reception will take place at First United Methodist Church in Frankfort, located at 211 Washington St, Frankfort, KY 40601. It's a beautiful setting for our Christmas celebration, and we can’t wait to share this special day with you!

When should I arrive?

The ceremony will start promptly at 1:30 PM. Please arrive early to settle in and get ready for the festivities!

Will there be parking?

Limited on-the-street parking may be available on Washington Street. There are several handicapped spaces in front of the church. Other options include: Parking behind Paul Sawyier Public Library Parking behind Paul Sawyier Public Library

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?

The ceremony and reception will be indoors, but we’ll have some festive outdoor spaces for you to explore and snap a few holiday photos!

Will there be a photographer or videographer?

Yes! We’ll have a professional photographer and videographer capturing all the special moments of our day. We’re asking that our ceremony be "unplugged", so please put away your phones and cameras during the ceremony to let the professionals work their magic. We can’t wait to share the official photos with you afterward!

How to do I share any pictures I took?

Can I bring a guest?

We’re so happy that you want to share the day with someone! Please reach out to the bride and groom for guest accommodations. While we may not have enough room for additional guests, we are always willing to consider accommodations and will do our best to include everyone.

Are children invited?

Absolutely! We’d love for the little ones to join in on the holiday fun. We’ll have plenty of children present and lots of fun activities planned to keep them entertained throughout the day. No need for a babysitter—just bring the whole family and let the kids enjoy the celebration!

Brunch Questions You Didn't Know You Had

What kind of food will be served during the social hour?

We’re excited to share our Comfort and Joy Table—a gorgeous spread of brunch-inspired grazing goodness. Picture charcuterie boards with meats and cheeses, fresh fruits, assorted breads and pastries, dips and spreads, crackers, and other tasty bites. It’s the kind of table that invites you to slow down, snack, and savor.

What if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?

We’re planning with care and will have items labeled to help navigate allergens. If you have a specific concern, just let us know when you RSVP—we’re happy to accommodate.

Will there be nut-free desserts?

Yes! We will have an entire dessert table dedicated to nut-free goodies. Everything on that table will be clearly labeled and safe for those with nut allergies so that you can enjoy the sweets without stress!

Will there be gluten-free choices?

Yes! We’ll have a selection of gluten-free snacks and sides—please let us know in advance so we can be sure you're taken care of.

Will there be alcohol?

This is a Church wedding, so the only thing getting lit is the unity candle.

Is the meal buffet-style or plated?

It’ll be buffet-style grazing, so you can build your perfect plate (or two) at your own pace.

What’s being served for lunch?

We’re sharing some of our favorite Cajun and Creole dishes with y’all! The lunch menu includes: – Chicken Étouffée – Jambalaya (spicy!) – Chicken Creole – Red Beans with Smoked Sausage – Classic Gumbo We’ll also have our Comfort & Joy Table—a brunch-style spread with fruits, cheeses, dips, breads, and small bites for grazing. Come hungry—there’s something for everyone!

Can I have a little of everything?

A: Of course! We encourage you to pick your main dish first, but feel free to sample a little of everything—whether it’s the spicy jambalaya, gumbo, or something from the Comfort & Joy Table. There’s no wrong way to brunch!

Dress Code: Let’s Get Festive and Fabulous!

What should I wear?

Come as you are and wear what makes you feel great! Whether it’s your favorite ugly Christmas sweater, a festive dress, a sharp suit, or even cozy holiday-inspired casual wear—just be yourself and bring that Christmas cheer!

Is there a specific dress code?

Nope! This is all about comfort, fun, and celebrating the season. We’re encouraging ugly Christmas sweaters, but you can also wear whatever makes you feel festive and fabulous. No jeans or shorts, though—let’s keep it festive!

Can I wear something more casual?

Absolutely! Feel free to rock that cute Christmas tee or holiday-inspired casual outfit. The most important thing is that you’re comfortable and feeling the holiday spirit.

Should I wear shoes that I can dance in?

Definitely! We’ll be dancing the night away to some festive tunes, so choose shoes you can move in while keeping that holiday look intact.

Is there a color scheme I should follow?

We’re all about the Christmas vibes! Reds, greens, whites, golds, and silvers are perfect. But hey, if you want to go all out with your ugly sweater, we’re all for it—just make sure it’s something you love wearing. Just remember, the bride is the only one in white!

Can I wear a Christmas sweater or holiday accessories?

YES! We’re encouraging all of you to rock your ugliest Christmas sweaters and bring on the holiday accessories. Whether it’s twinkling lights, reindeer antlers, or festive scarves, feel free to express your Christmas cheer!

Will there be a wedding registry?

Your presence is the best gift we could ask for! However, if you'd like to give a gift, we have a registry set up. Click on the Registry tab at the top of the page for more information.
